Welcome to Shock-Ra BEAR
If you were to ask the forefathers of the BEAR community for the most common definition of a ‘BEAR’, they would more than likely reply; “a man who is hairy, has facial hair, and a cuddly body.” However, the term ‘BEAR’ means many things to many people, and has been redefined within the bear movement, over the years. BEARS are not defined by a particular ethnic background, age, gender, or sexual identity; it’s becoming all encompassing. Suffice it to say, ‘BEAR’ is often defined as more of an attitude than anything else - a sense of comfort with our naturalness and physicality’s that do not conform to the current fads of attractiveness, that is so common in the gay and lesbian community and society at large.
This collection of clothing, accessories and home decor items was inspired by the seven colours commonly associated with bear pride. Designed with inclusiveness, tolerance and acceptance in mind, each individual colour reflects the diversity of ‘fur’ and nationalities of the bear community throughout the world.
